Holding Ourselves Accountable This Year

By Articles

I get it. I’ve done it. New year’s resolutions are hard to keep up with. And before you know it, you’ve fallen off and feel like its next to impossible to get back on. That’s not true! Here at Barre Harmony we make it possible to stay on and get back on when you need it! These days there’s so many things to resolute. Some people vow to get into shape, some vow to get out of the house more, while others vow to eat healthier. All of these are great resolutions but what I have found is that they are too big. Maybe even a little too vague.

Getting In-Shape

Getting in shape is one of the #1 resolutions year after year, it never fails. And you know what, I love it! I love when people start caring about themselves! Be selfish, you deserve it! Getting in shape doesn’t mean you need to starve yourself and drop down to a size 0. I’m not a 0 and I consider myself an in-shape person. So instead of resolving to get in shape, set yourself small goals. Set a goal to go to the studio and get at least 1-2 workouts in a week. Or maybe even to go exercise at least 3 times a week. These little goals will ultimately help bring you to your big one! Here at Barre Harmony we specialize in this. We challenge you to hold yourself accountable and come take at least 2 classes a week with us and watch your body, mind, and outlook on life change!

Eating Healthy

Eating healthy is another top resolution, and again I love it! This year personally I have resolute to eat less meat and more fruits and veggies. That’s right, I’m putting down those cheeseburgers and picking up those green smoothies! Again, this is a very big resolution. Help yourself by choosing a smaller one. Now some of you may be doing this already and loving it and being very successful, you go! But for those of us who struggle with keeping ourselves stuck to a resolution, let’s set a small goal. Maybe like mine, you choose not just a general food idea but one food or one food group. And maybe don’t cut it out completely, limit yourself with it. Say one cookie a week, not a box and a half. (This is going to be tough considering Girl Scout cookie season is here!) But we can do this! Healthy eating combined with regular exercise can do amazing things! Barre class and a smoothie, yum!

Come take a class with me this week. Let’s kick those resolution’s butts! We can do it!
